What is telematics?
Telematics provide real-time insight into pieces of equipment, no matter where it is located. It provides access to helpful metrics such as machine status, battery charge, location and more at the touch of a button. This data can help to identify usage and maintenance trends to maximize operational efficiency.
What is Snorkel OnSite™?
Snorkel OnSite™ powered by Trackunit is a full-service telematics program now available on most Snorkel mobile elevating work platforms and telehandlers.
Which models is it available on?
Snorkel OnSite is available on all Snorkel push-around, electric slab and rough terrain scissor lifts, Speed Level’s, self-propelled mast lifts, articulated and telescopic boom lifts, TL37J, TL49J, and all telehandlers.
Snorkel OnSite is not currently available on Snorkel’s UL-series push-around mast lifts, TL39 towable boom lift, or the Snorkel line of material lifts.
Does a new Snorkel lift automatically come with Snorkel OnSite?
No, new Snorkel lifts are built as “telematics-ready”. This means the machine will have a compatible connection for the telematics module to be installed, if it is optioned.
Can Snorkel OnSite be installed on older Snorkel models?
Yes, a retrofit installation kit can be requested from Snorkel Spare Parts for most older models.
What telematics data is available on Snorkel units?
The type of data which can be accessed via telematics varies depending on whether the equipment has a CAN Bus or Non-CAN Bus control system, but at a minimum will include:
- Machine status (on/off)
- Machine hours
- Machine location
- Battery level
Can I install Snorkel OnSite on other brands of equipment?
Yes. Snorkel OnSite is powered by Trackunit who can provide telematics modules and subscriptions for most brands and types of equipment.
