Jiangsu Province, China (20th June 2018) Snorkel, a leading global manufacturer of aerial work platforms, is pleased to announce the opening of a new assembly line at its 3,000sqm facility in Jintan, Jiangsu Province, China.
The new assembly line will produce the Snorkel A46JE model, which is a class-leading electric-powered articulating boom lift that can lift 227kg to a working height of 16.1m. The high performance A46JE delivers a superb working envelope, with the added flexibility of a jib boom and powered platform rotation. Compact dimensions, a tight inside turning radius of just 0.53m and a zero tailswing make this the ideal boom lift for working in confined spaces.
A well-established product that is popular across the world, the Snorkel A46JE weighs just 6,850kg, is only 1.7m wide and delivers a working outreach of up to 7.35m. The spacious, tri-entry 1.85m x 1.0m platform features Snorkel Guard™ secondary guarding as standard, and is fitted with smooth, multi-function proportional controls.
The Snorkel China assembly facility was opened in 2016 for warehousing and consolidation, with assembly being added in 2017. The first two electric scissor lifts produced at the facility were displayed at the APEX Asia trade show in Shanghai in October 2017. Both the Snorkel S3219E and S4732E electric slab scissor lifts continue to be built at the facility, serving the domestic China market.
The introduction of the Snorkel A46JE line represents Snorkel’s continued investment in the China market, and supports domestic customer demand for additional models.

The opening of the new assembly line was celebrated with a customer & vendor appreciation event held in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province on the evening of Tuesday 19th June, and was followed by an official line opening ceremony and luncheon on Wednesday 20th June at the Snorkel China facility in Jintan, hosted by Snorkel owner, Don Ahern.
