Snorkel has updated the A38E all-electric articulated self-propelled boom lift, adding a new control system.
This enhanced controller retains the smooth lift and drive performance of the A38E, but makes it even easier for service engineers to diagnose faults and troubleshoot, thereby reducing maintenance costs. It includes a new display panel which allows the service engineer to read the error codes and make system adjustments at the touch of a button.
With an 11.5m maximum platform height and a gross weight of just 3,770kg, the Snorkel A38E has the best height-to-weight ratio in its class. It also has the best working outreach of 5.9m. Snorkel’s innovative articulating-telescopic boom combination means that this class-leading lift has very little front boom overhang.
Electric booms are more energy-efficient than diesel or gas-powered aerials. They also have lower operating costs, are easier to service and are better for the environment. Quiet, clean and with zero emissions, the Snorkel A38E is ideal for working inside buildings. Recent customers include automotive manufacturers, shopping malls and airlines, who all appreciate the A38E for its superb lift performance, compact dimensions and low weight.
This versatile lift can also be operated outdoors and can climb gradients of up to 36%. The precision one-hand controls and DC direct drive ensure that the A38E is responsive and easy to use. It has a safe working load of 215kg, suitable for two people with tools and is rated for one person when used outdoors.
The lift is powered by 8 x 6V, 210Ah batteries, so it has more than enough power to work all day – and the battery pack can be recharged overnight. Non-marking tires are fitted as standard.
The Snorkel A38E with the new control system will be on display at Bauma China 2014, Stand A72 in the Outdoor area. It is currently in full production at our UK manufacturing facility and is available to order.
