Snorkel, a leading global manufacturer of aerial work platforms, returns to Shanghai, China for the second-ever APEX Asia show. Set within the CeMat Asia show, APEX Asia is a dedicated showcase of aerial work platforms for the Asian market.
Showcasing five machines at the 80sqm stand this year, Snorkel will be displaying the S3219E and S4732E electric scissor lifts, the A38E and A46JE electric boom lifts, and the S3970RT rough terrain scissor lift.
Snorkel has officially launched the production of the popular electric articulated boom, the Snorkel A38E, at its assembly facility in Jintan, Jiangsu Province, China. This 3,000sqm facility is the second manufacturing location for this model, and will supply the domestic China market. The Snorkel A38E is also built at Snorkel’s manufacturing facility in the UK, which will continue to ship to customers worldwide.
This is the fourth model to be introduced to Snorkel’s Jintan assembly facility, following the S3219E and S4732E electric slab scissors in 2017, and the Snorkel A46JE electric articulated boom lift in 2018. Subject to demand, Snorkel will introduce additional product lines in the future as required to support domestic customers in China.

Snorkel’s industry leading A-series articulating boom lifts combine superb maneuverability with clean and quiet operation, delivering working heights of up to 16.0m from zero emission, battery-powered machines.
Lightweight but durable and reliable, the Snorkel A38E offers class-leading performance, with a working height up to 13.5m and up to 6.1m of outreach. The up-and-over articulated/telescopic boom design provides the operator with a superb working envelope, and now features powered platform rotation and Snorkel Guard secondary guarding as standard.
Capable of working to heights up to 16.0m, the two-wheel drive Snorkel A46JE is a battery-electric version of the A46JRT. With a working outreach of 7.35m and a jib length of 1.5m, this self-propelled boom is a highly versatile performer. The spacious 1.83m x 1.0m platform can lift two people with tools, while offering powered 160° rotation.
Designed to deliver low total ownership costs, Snorkel electric slab scissor lifts are packed with features that benefit both the owner and operator. At APEX Asia, Snorkel is displaying the compact S3219E which has a working height of 7.79m and a lift capacity of 250kg. Measuring just 1.78m x 0.81m, this lift can be driven through a standard doorway, and can be used outdoors by one person.
The Snorkel S4732E is the largest lift in its family of electric slab scissor lifts. Weighing in at 2,693kg, the Snorkel S4732E can lift 350kg to a working height of 11.8m and features a 1.21m roll-out extension deck for additional reach.
Alongside the electric slab scissor lifts, Snorkel is also displaying its S3970RT rough terrain scissor lift. New to the Chinese market, the Snorkel S3970RT is the largest in the line of compact diesel-powered rough terrain scissor lifts. Offering a maximum working height of 13.8m, the Snorkel S3970RT has a lift capacity of 350kg from a chassis that is 1.8m wide. Its narrow dimensions and roll-out deck extension are ideal for outdoor work in confined spaces. With four-wheel drive to tackle rough terrain with ease, the S3970RT is also equipped with outriggers as standard for the ultimate versatility.
