Washington, Tyne & Wear, U.K. (May 11, 2016) ‒ An invitation to Bauma 2016 resulted in a first time purchase of aerial work platforms for Dutch forklift rental company, Makkina.
OMEGA, the official Snorkel distributor in The Netherlands, invited Mr. Jos de Koster, the founder and owner of Makkina to attend Bauma 2016. During his time at the Snorkel stand, he placed an order for two Snorkel electric slab scissor lifts, S3219E and S4732E, as well as a Snorkel A38E electric articulating boom lift. This is the first ever order for aerial work platforms for Makkina, and marks an expansion in their rental fleet offering.
The S3219E and S4732E are models from Snorkel’s new hydraulic drive electric scissor lift family, which also includes the new S3215E and S3220E that launched at the show. The scissor lifts feature Snorkel’s innovative twin-door service trays, providing ‘inside-out’ access to all of the key machine components, as well as a fixed upper control box, saloon-style entry gates, dual-shear scissor stack design with upsized pins, proportional descent, upsized kingpins, and a gravity-actuated pothole protection system.
The Snorkel A38E is a popular electric articulated boom lift. Its lightweight, durable and robust design makes it a suitable machine for both indoor and outdoor use. It has minimal front boom overhang, ultra-tight inside turning radius and a compact chassis for excellent manoeuverability. It also is equipped with Snorkel’s smooth, proportional control system that is consistent with other Snorkel lifts, including the electric scissor lifts, providing familiarity for service engineers.
Makkina is a forklift rental company focused on the rental, sales and service of forklifts into their local market of Kapelle, near Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

The order was placed with Arjan Roelse, from OMEGA. Since 2001, OMEGA has supplied aerial work platforms to its local community. OMEGA is the official distributor of Snorkel products in The Netherlands, providing sales, parts and service.
